U.S. and Signal Corps Discs
2 Overseas Chevrons
WWI Victory Medal with France Clasp
Large Oval Portrait in Bubble Glass Frame
A Pattern 1917 issued tunic and trousers. 3rd Division shoulder sleeve insignia machine sewn to tunic. Two overseas bullion type chevrons machine sewn to left cuff. Tunic has contract label in lining, dated 1918, lining is complete and shows a lot of period wear. Tunic has some scattered moth damage on both sleeves and on upper back. Bottom of both lower pockets have substantial moth damage as seen in photos. All buttons are present, both hooks remain on standing collar. U.S. and Signal Corps discs. WWI Victory Medal found in pocket included.
Trousers appear to be almost unworn and are much better than tunic. However just like the tunic they also have scattered moth damage, most are small but a few are pencil eraser size. There is no label or tag in trousers. No size tags on either garment.
Uniform comes with a large oval bubble glass portrait of a soldier in uniform with U.S. discs and overseas cap. Oval wood frame measures 19" x 25" inches and is adorned with a patriotic design of U.S. flags. There is some damage to the frame, as seen in photos, but remains very sturdy.
There are no names on uniform or portrait. I purchased this grouping in 2000 from a militaria dealer. The grouping came to them together from a previous collector.
