INSTRUCTION MANUAL FOR USING SOLAR E-CHEF SOLAR COOKERS:
In sunny weather, Solar E Chef solar tubes can reach temperatures of 200-250
o
F without the aid of reflectors; with reflectors, they may reach over 400
o
F.  With an Inner diameter of over 4.8 inches, this solar oven is very versatile and can hold alot of food.  With this oven, you can cook meat, vegetables, bread and more with using only the energy of the sun for fuel.

Arrangement of the cooker:
The cooker can be mounted on an elevated base or placed on flat ground on a smooth surface. Use of reflecting surface such as Mylar sheets enhances the heating process.
The cooker should be placed facing the sun, and periodically moved in suitable angles to obtain maximum exposure to sunlight and enable continued heating.
The lids are custom designed for the solar cookers. However, there may be slight variations in the fitting of lids from tube to tube. For some of the tighter fitting lids, we added vent holes to ensure that there is no pressure build-up.  DO NOT ALLOW THESE VENTS TO BE CLOGGED. Customers may add more holes as desired.
Blocking of vents may result in pressure build-up or steam related injury.
As many of our lids fit tightly, we recommend not pushing the lid in all the way in order to aid in ease of opening.
Instructions for cooking materials
:
It is recommended that any food product used for cooking in the solar cookers should be at room temperature. Avoid inserting frozen foods into a preheated solar cooker, as the drastic differences in temperature may lead to breaking of the solar cooker tube. Preheating the solar cooker tube is not recommended.
Liquids and solids can be directly cooked into the tube.  Aluminum foil pans, baking pans (oven safe), or aluminum foils of suitable size may be used. Pans of up to 4.1 inches width easily fit into this solar cooker tube. When cooking liquid food items
directly
in the solar cooker tube, the end of the tube with the lid should be elevated to avoid spillage of the liquids.
Use of heat resistant gloves is recommended while handling the utensils, lid and cooked products.
Cleaning and maintenance
:
Clean up can be a breeze: the solar tube can be cleaned like any other glassware, by using detergent solution. Any residues of food material can be easily removed by used of detergent solution and a brush. Avoid applying any pressure to the metal cap on the tube while cleaning.
The outer surface can be wiped clean with a damp cloth or detergent solution as needed.
Though the Solar E Chef solar ovens are made of tough borosilicate glass (similar to high quality Pyrex), the tube should be handled with care at all times.  Additional care should be exercised with solar cookers around children and pets, as the solar cooker may be hot.
Damage Policy: All items are inspected for damage or defects prior to leaving our warehouse.  If you believe that you found a defect in our product, contact us and we may issue a replacement.
This item is not a toy - improper usage may cause it to fail, resulting it the glass cracking or shattering. It is not built to withstand impacts, scratching/scuffing, or thermal differentials of greater

329 °F and the Seller (Solar E Chef) shall not be held responsible for any damage that arrises from this item's failure due to these circumstances. The seller is neither responsible for the maintenance of the integrity of this item nor damages that results from the failure to properly maintain this item.

Due to breakages and lost tubes, Solar E Chef no longer recommends shipping our solar cookers through USPS. Additionally, we will no longer be shipping outside of the contiguous lower 48 states of the US. We reserve the right to cancel orders to locations made outside of this area.
