Description
This very attractivecirca
1920s 'good luck' coin (token or medal) has a detailed image of a 'swami' on the obverse, surrounded by the words
HEALTH * HAPPINESS * WEALTH * FOREVER
.
The reverse has an image depicting the rising sun, on which are the incused (stamped) words
LUCKY TALISMAN OF THE ORIENT
. Five symbols of good luck are placed between the sun's rays - a swastika, lock and key, elephant, horseshoe, and wishbone. [NOTE: The use of the swastika dates this item to earlier than the 1930s, when this symbol was put into other use!] This item was struck very well, with bold images and lettering. References indicate a brass composition, with a gilt surface treatment that almost totally remains on both sides. The diameter is
approximately 24 mm (15/16").
This token is in extremely fine condition, with no apparent actual wear, with limited signs of handling and limited toning, Both surfaces have a very good gold color (and lack the dark areas visible in the photos) and are very bright.
The illustrations in this listing are photos of the actual item being offered for sale, serving as part of the description. NOTE: The photos are not good. The actual item has a better gold color, is much brighter, and is much more attractive than in the photos
.
