6 VINTAGE MEDALS ~ ADVERTISING & GOOD LUCK.
These six assorted medals date from the 1940s to 1960s. Here's what you get:

    Franklin Mint, 1966.
Proof-like solid bronze medal is 1½" (38 mm) in diameter. The proof-like finish is very close to actual Proof quality, but produced at greater speed with minor surface imperfections being acceptable; still equal to to many specimens normally considered "Proof" by collectors. Silver color appears identical to the 1966 sterling silver medal. Brilliant uncirculated, this is a spectacular medal.

    Osborne Coinage Advertising Medal,
Founded in 1835 as the Osborne Register Company in Cincinnati, Ohio, sometime later the company changed its name and emphasis to producing coins for advertising, commemorative, and premium use. The company is the oldest private mint in America and is still in business today. This beautiful copper-nickel medal is 1¼" (31.8 mm) in diameter and has a shiniy silver appearance. The obverse has an image of two men riding on a horse and around the periphery reads, "WHEN TWO MEN RIDE A HORSE, ONE WILL ALWAYS BE IN FRONT." The reverse has text promoting the Osborne Company. Beautiful condition, appears uncirculated.

    Miller Company Advertising Medal, 1947.
Edward Miller & Co. was formed in Meriden, Connecticut, in 1844 and is primarily known as a historical manufacturer of lamps. It changed its name in 1924 to the Miller Company. During World War II, much of its production was devoted to producing items for the military and so after the war in 1947, management decided to issue a promotional medal with a brand new 1947 penny in it. The obverse has the face of the penny and words for good luck while the reverse reads, "MILLER ~ GOOD LIGHTING SINCE 1844." Medal is aluminum, 1⅜" (35 mm) in diameter, made of aluminum, and in very nice condition.

Doubleday Company Promotional & Commemorative Medal, 1947.
The firm was founded as Doubleday & McClure Company in 1897. In 1944, Doubleday, Doran acquired the Philadelphia medical publisher Blakiston and in 1946 became Doubleday and Company. By 1947, Doubleday was the largest publisher in the US, with annual sales of over 30 million books, and this aluminum medal was issued to commemorate that fact. The obverse has a 1947 penny in the center with the words, "Doubleday ~ Books ~ Records" around the periphery. The reverse reads, "GOOD LUCK," and interestingly, has 5 Indian symbols on it. The medal is 1¼" (31.8 mm) in diameter, made of aluminum, and in very nice condition.

Cat and Dog Lovers Good Luck Charm.
This aluminum medal is a big 1½" in diameter and on one side has an image of a cat's head. It reads, "CAT LOVER'S GOOD LUCK CHARM ~ NORTH SHORE ANIMAL LEAGUE." The reverse has an image of a dog's head with similar text.

    Christian Medal
is aluminum and 1½" in diameter. The obverse reads, "WHERE WILL YOU SPEND ETERNITY?" and in smaller type has, "John 3:16" and "Jesus Christ." The reverse has the John 3:16 scripture verse, King James Version. Very nice condition, practically uncirculated.
